Nick Mountain
I have been playing soccer since I was 6 years old. Whether I am playing or watching, I love the beautiful game!
I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 2025 with a B.S. in Computer Science. Here is me on graduation day with my girlfriend Lila.
My favorite hobby is playing disc golf. Here is me throwing a disc at the Arrowhead course in Wilmington, NC.
I am fascinated by gothic architecture. Here is a picture I took of the magnificent five-aisled nave of the Bourges cathedral in Bourges, France.

Solving Problems

This app uses the Flutter mobile development framework, pulling user data from our PostgreSQL database and music data from the Apple Music API.
This is Record, a music review social media app that is coming soon to the app store!

I am interested in electronics, specifically microcontrollers. This is an image of me testing out an app that connects to a microcontroller API that I built to send and receive data from ESP32 microcontrollers. Check out the demo and API code!

My friends and I are big fans of Wii golf, so I built a website to help us keep track of our scores (my best is -13). Check out the demo and code!

Personal programming projects are a great way for me to improve my skills in many programming languages, including Java, Python, TypeScript, C++, Swift, Dart, and more! Scroll back up to the previous page or check out my GitHub to see what I've been doing!

It's impossible to ignore the affect that AI is having on the world of software development. To keep my skills up to date, I have integrated Claude with my VSCode development setup. I am using AI as a partner that increases my productivity and helps me learn, but does not replace my ability to think. This website is my first project with AI as a pairs programming partner.

As a Technical Support Specialist at Prometheus Group, I communicate with dozens of customer contacts with a wide range of technical and industry expertise. People only talk to me when things go wrong, so I have had to learn to deal with frustration and sometimes anger, but I have learned that I can still develop a positive relationship with people by being honest and well-prepared.

Over the past few years, I have become very interested in electronics, specifically microcontrollers. I have learned to use basic circuits to controls LEDs and other actuators with the Arduino UNO, send/receive data over WiFi with the ESP32, and gather sensor data such as temperature and acceleration with the BLE Sense Rev 2. Check out my electronics sandbox repository!
